Embarrassing moments in Cricket

Undoubtedly, the game of cricket is full of drama. The game itself, the heat on the field and between the players, the adrenaline rush it gives out to the players and to the spectators too, there is so much to talk about. There had been many heated-up moments, sledges, fights and banters. But there had been many embarrassing incidents as well. Let's have a look at the top 7 embarrassing incidents from the world of cricket:-

1) The infamous underarm delivery incident.

In February 1981, during an ODI between Australia and New Zealand the infamous underarm delivery incident took place. New Zealand needed six to tie from the final delivery of the game, but Greg Chappell, then Australian captain gave the command to his brother , Trevor, to bowl an underarm delivery along the ground to prevent the batsman, Brian McKechnie hitting it into the stands.
Keith Miller, former Australian all-rounder quoted the incident as-
"Yesterday one day cricket-died and Greg Chappell should be buried with it."

2) Unwelcoming appearance and nudity on the field.

An act of embarrassment, a man, call it an unwelcoming presence on the field during an ODI between India and Australia ran naked on the field and collided with Andrew Symonds. The incident was so inglorious that even if Symonds try not to recall it, he would end up failing in doing so.

3) Hotspot technology caught the hottest spot indeed.

During a cricket match, a player's real hot-spot was spotted. A clear fart was spotted , truly said, everything has it's pros and con. Here's to the technology, infrared footage of a fart.

4) Inzamam-ul-Haq's awkward dismissal.

Surely, Inzamam-ul-Haq is one of the finest cricketers that Pakistani soil had produced, but there had been many funny and embarrassing incidents that are linked with this legendary Pakistani great. His dismissal on Monty Panesar's delivery trended as one of the most embarrassing and ugly dismissals of all time. Inzamam had survived the occurrence of this self-humiliating incident, WHOA!

5) Wardrobe malfunctions are always embarrassing.

Neil McKenzie, Lou Vincent, Yasir Shah and even Virat Kohli had experienced the pants-down moment while fielding. In front of thousands of people, nobody would want that to happen to them. But the pants were pulled on and the game went on.
Psst, the videos are available on YouTube.

6) A cricket fan misses a seat at Lord's

On day 3 of the England v Australia Ashes Test (2015), recently famous the 'invisible seat' incident took place. A woman misses her seat at Lord's and the incident was shown all over the screens and TV and trended all over the internet. It even drew smiles from the cricketers on the field. Oh Lady, that was embarrassing but you carried on well.
